Tony Ferguson Holds Discussions With UFC Officials, Says He’s Back

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has been waiting patiently to return to the Octagon. With “El Cucuy” sidelined temporarily due to some personal issues, Ferguson couldn’t get right back on the horse, after his phenomenal fight with Anthony Pettis. While Tony has since maintained that he has been medically cleared, Dana White said he still wasn’t ready to compete.

However, it was mentioned earlier today that Tony Ferguson and his team were meeting the UFC officials. It didn’t take long for the former interim champion to let the fans know that he was back, as he took to social media, and posted a video.

“I’m back, MF’s”, was Tony’s message to the lightweights in the UFC.

While Khabib Nurmagomedov is expected to fight Dustin Poirier next to unify the lightweight championship, Tony Ferguson has also called out Conor McGregor. In fact, Tony now has a different management team, which could clear the path for a fight between the two top ranked lightweights, with the fight potentially fighting the champion later this year.

Tony has been on an impressive undefeated run, and many believe he should fight for the title next. Who do you think Tony Ferguson should fight upon his return?
