Tony Ferguson Leaves Paradigm Sports Management

Tony Ferguson has left Paradigm Sports Management. It brings an end to their seven year relationship. Paradigm is probably best know for managing Conor McGregor.

ESPN have reported that Ferguson has signed with the Ballengee Group, who manage Eddie Alvarez, Vitor Belfort and many other MMA and sporting stars.

In a statement to ESPN, Paradigm CEO and president Audie Attar, wished Ferguson well.

“Tony Ferguson is a talented athlete, and we hope his future brings him personal happiness both in and out of the Octagon.”.

The news comes the day after it was reported that Ferguson has had the restraining order against him by his wife, dropped. Which you can read more about here.

The former UFC interim lightweight champion has won his last eleven fights. With his last win coming against Anthony Pettis last October at UFC 229.

Since the restraining order was taken out against Ferguson last month, it has been thought that the 35 year old has not been mentally well enough to fight. Although in the last couple of weeks, Ferguson has tweeted that he passed his medical evaluations. And despite Dana White saying last week that he needed to be cleared by the UFC to fight again, Ferguson tweeted a response saying that he had been offered a fight from the UFC the previous week.

‘El Cucuy’ has repeatedly called out the UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and McGregor. In one tweet, he stated that he had asked Paradigm to fight McGregor but they didn’t want to know.

You would think that McGregor is a large part of the reason Ferguson has left Paradigm. He has made it clear that he is only interested in ‘Champ shit only’. That or a fight with McGregor. Khabib is set to defend his lightweight title against the new interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, on September 7th in Abu Dhabi.

With the restraining order being dropped, medical evaluations passed and no longer with the same management firm as McGregor, has this opened up the doors to an Octagon showdown with the Irish man?
