Tyson Fury: I’d Fight Stipe Miocic Or Francis Ngannou In A Heartbeat

Recently, former boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury teased a move to MMA. And although some fans thought he was joking, the 31 year old is insisting that he is deadly serious about making a move to mixed martial arts.

When asked by iFL TV if he was serious about moving to MMA, Fury said he was ‘very serious’ and again confirmed that he had been discussing his plans with Conor McGregor. ‘The Gypsy King’ also said that he had been approached by Frank Mir, offering to help him.

“Very serious. I spoke to Conor, I spoke to McGregor and we’re ready to rock and roll. I also had a message today from Frank Mir, former heavyweight champion of the UFC, and he said he’d be interested in working with me as well. So yeah, I reckon we can do something big time. Dana [White], call me.”

Fury said that he hadn’t heard from UFC president Dana White but stated that he would accept fights with Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou in a ‘heartbeat’.

“Listen, I’m not afraid of any of them. Who’s the heavyweight champion of the world in the UFC? The Croatian guy, American-Croatian. He just beat Daniel Cormier in the rematch (Stipe Miocic). I’ll fight him in a heartbeat, no problem, or Francis Ngannou. Or any of the heavyweight champions. Any of the heavyweights they’ve got, I’m not afraid of any of them. I’m the ‘Gypsy King’. Listen, I’m a boxer, but I am one badass motherf***er.

“I’m also quite a good kicker. Listen, McGregor is making his comeback. I’m looking at stepping into the MMA world. It’s a talk in process at the minute but I know a lot of people. I’ve got another good guy who’s the highest level in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, that you can get. And he’s over at Marbella, at the MTK Gym. And I’m sure he’d love to work with me, and I’d love to work with him. So he can show me all the BJJ stuff. I could pick it up quite quickly, I’m a quick learner. I’m willing. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And I’m willing and I’m wanting.”

Earlier this week, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring female middleweight world champion and two time Olympic gold medalist boxer Claressa Shields, said that she planned to make her MMA debut in 2020, because she doesn’t get the respect she deserves in boxing.

Do you think Dana White would ever let Tyson Fury step inside the Octagon with Stipe Miocic or Francis Ngannou?
