UFC 261: Usman vs Masvidal Results And Post Fight Videos
UFC 261 goes down on Saturday night at the sold out VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Not only is the card stacked with three title fights, but it will also see the return of fans for the first time in over a year, with the exception of Fight Island. In the main event, Kamaru Usman defends his welterweight title against Jorge Masvidal.
Masvidal stepped in on one weeks’ notice at UFC 251 to challenge Usman but came up short, losing a one-sided unanimous decision. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has fought once since then, defending his title against his former teammate Gilbert Burns at UFC 258.
In the UFC 261 co-main event, Zhang Weili is set to defend her strawweight title against the former champion, Rose Namajunas. ‘Magnum’ hasn’t fought since UFC 248, where she defended her title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the Fight of the Year. ‘Thug’ Rose secured another shot at the title by avenging her loss to Jessica Andrade at UFC 251.
In the third title fight of the night, Andrade will challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight title. The Brazilian 29 year old earned her title shot by finishing Katlyn Chookagian in the first round at UFC Fight Island 6. ‘The Bullet’ goes into her fifth title defence on a six fight winning streak.
