UFC Announce Several Bouts, Including Gilbert Melendez vs Arnold Allen

The UFC has announced several exciting fights, including the return of Gilbert Melendez. The 37 year old hasn’t fought since losing to Jeremy Stephens in September of 2017. The loss was his fourth in a row. Albeit it to four killers in Anthony Pettis, Eddie Alvarez, Edson Barboza and then Stephens.

The California native will face Arnold Allen in a featherweight bout at UFC 239, which goes down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, on July 6th. The pair were due to face each other last November but Melendez had to pull out because of an injury.

Allen is coming off of a unanimous decision win over  Jordan Rinaldi at UFC London in March. The 25 year old (who’s from 20 minutes up the road from my home town in England) has won his last seven fights, five of which have come in the UFC Octagon.

Two fights have also been added to UFC Minneapolis, on June 29th. Sergio Pettis will take on Ricardo Ramos in a bantamweight contest. The younger brother of Anthony will look to bounce back from two losses to Jussier Formiga and Rob Font. While Ramos will be looking to bounce back from a first-round TKO loss to Said Nurmagomedov, at UFC Fortaleza.

A lightweight bout between Jared Gordon and Dan Moret is also heading to Minneapolis. Both are also coming off of losses. Gordon to Carlos Diego Ferreira and Joaquim Silva. While Moret has lost both his UFC outings, to Gilbert Burns and Alex White.

BJPenn.com has also reported that Cody Stamann and Rob Font have agreed to fight at UFC Greenville, the previous week on June 22nd. Although it hasn’t been confirmed by the UFC yet.
