UFC: Colby Covington And Jorge Masvidal Trade More Blows

Almost two months on from losing to Kamaru Usman in the main event at UFC 245, Colby Covington is yet to go back to American Top Team (ATT). In light of this, his former best friend Jorge Masvidal, recently said that ‘Chaos’ has left the gym completely.

However, speaking on BJPENN.com Radio, Covington denied Masvidal’s comments, and accused the ‘piece of s***’ of spreading fake news.

“That’s fake news. You know that. You can’t believe anything that guy says. He’s a traitor. That’s why he got the nickname ‘Street Judas’, because he’s the Judas. He’s a piece of s*** man. He makes up lies all the time. I haven’t been to the gym because I’ve been in Oregon.  I’ve been training with my new strength and conditioning coach. I got better s*** to do. I’m traveling.”

Covington went on to say that when he does return to ATT, ‘the little b*****’ Masvidal won’t do anything when he sees him.

“I got things I’m doing so, I’ll be back at ATT soon and he knows what’s what. He can say whatever the f*** he wants in an interview. But, when we get face to face, he’s not going to do s*** because he’s a little b**** and he knows who owns who. He’s never won one second of one round, of any type of training, or anything, ever. So the guy knows who his daddy is, and his daddy is Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington.”

While Masvidal also agreed that nothing will happen when they see each other at ATT, the 35 year old stated that it would be for a different reason.

“He’ll be with Secret Service, and they’ll be walking him around, and he’ll shout s*** when he’s at a safe distance. If I’m bored, I’ll shout f***ing back, knowing that nothing could happen because he’s with security, Secret Service. He’s got like four or five guys walking him to the bathroom, so whatever. He doesn’t even eat at the places he used to frequent a lot. He stopped going to all these places because he heard rumours that I was going there. This guy’s a coward,” Masvidal told MMA Junkie.

It was reported that Covington broke his jaw against Usman at UFC 245, although he has since denied this. Masvidal however, stated that Colby has broken many bones in training over the years.

“I’ve known Colby for a while. He’s a glass type. He’s the type of guy in training [who] would get hurt a lot. Broken his hands a lot, he’s had problems before in sparring, so it doesn’t surprise me that they broke his jaw.

“It surprised me that neither of them wrestled, and that spoke to me a lot that they’re not willing to have commitment like that and pull through on what got them there. They wouldn’t even switch it up. They decided they were both pretty even on the feet and wouldn’t take it to their own thing because they had too much pride, too much ego. ‘Maybe I get stuffed, maybe I get tired.’ I don’t know, but that showed a lot of weakness to me.”

It is not known when Covington will return yet but Dana White has stated that Masvidal will challenge Usman for the UFC welterweight title during the International Fight Week in July.
