UFC: Leon Edwards Continues To Call Out Jorge Masvidal

It’s safe to say that Leon Edwards is itching to fight Jorge Masvidal. Over the past few weeks, almost every tweet ‘Rocky’ has posted to Twitter has been directed at ‘Gamebred’.

When you look at the top of the UFC welterweight rankings, it’s difficult to argue with Edwards. The champion Kamaru Usman is set to defend his title against the number one contender, Gilbert Burns. The number two, Colby Covington, is scheduled to fight the former champion Tyron Woodley, at UFC Vegas 11 on September 19th. That leaves the number three ranked Englishman, currently on an eight fight winning streak, and the number four ranked Masvidal, the BMF champion.

Masvidal may argue that he wants a bigger money fight, as it’s fair to say that Edwards could be the most under appreciated fighter on the UFC roster. However, if he wants to run it back with Usman, after losing a unanimous decision to the champion at UFC 251 on short notice, no other opponent makes as much sense for him right now.

That’s certainly how Edwards sees it. Who also described Masvidal as a s*** journeyman’.

With the fight not looking like it’s going to happen inside the Octagon anytime soon, Edwards even suggested a street fight with Masvidal, to be put on YouTube. ‘Gamebred’ of course first found notoriety fighting in Miami backyards alongside Kimbo Slice.

The history between the two runs back to March 2019, when Masvidal famously unleashed his ‘three piece and soda’ on Edwards backstage at UFC London.

Not content with calling out Masvidal, Edwards also took the time to put Burns on blast.

Edwards hasn’t lost since he fought Usman in December of 2015 at UFC Orlando.

Do you think Leon Edwards vs Jorge Masvidal is the fight to make now?
