Usman vs Covington Set For UFC 245

Two days ago we reported that Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington is in the works for UFC 245. Now according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, it’s a done deal. Usman will defend his welterweight title against Covington in the main event on December 14th, at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas.

After UFC 233, the first UFC pay-per-view card of the year, was cancelled, the UFC is ending the year big, with three title fights on its final PPV card of 2019. Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie. And Max Holloway will defend his featherweight title against Alex Volkanovski.

The UFC tried to make Usman vs Covington for UFC 244 but talks fell through. As a result, Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz was confirmed to headline the Madison Square Garden main event. The Baddest Mother F***er title will be on the line in New York.

Usman hasn’t fought since he beat Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 in March, to win the 170lbs title. Covington is coming off an impressive one sided unanimous decision win over Robbie Lawler, at UFC Newark last month.

Who will walk away with the welterweight title, Kamaru Usman or Colby Covington?
