Volkan Oezdemir Posts Statement On Cancelled Fight At UFC Stockholm
Yesterday we reported that Ilir Latifi had been forced out of his UFC Stockholm co-main event with Volkan Oezdemir, due to an injury to his back.
The unfortunate news left Oezdemir without an opponent on the eve of the event in the Swedish capital. Despite losing his opponent, ‘No Time’ still officially weighed in anyway, clocking a weight of 205lbs, and has now taken to Instagram to thank his fans for their support and wish Latifi a speedy recovery.
Having lost his last three fights inside the UFC Octagon to Daniel Cormier, Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes, Oezdemir will have to wait for another opportunity to get back to winning ways.
UFC Stockholm is headlined by an exciting light heavyweight clash between home favourite Alexander Gustafsson, and Anthony Smith. Both of whom are coming off losses to the 205lbs champion, Jon Jones.
With Oezdemir vs Latifi off of the card, another light heavyweight bout has taken their spot in the co-main event, Jimi Manuwa vs Aleksandar Rakic.
