UFC heavyweight Walt Harris has received a four month suspension from United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), following a positive drug test on December 29th.

Harris’ in-competition test came back positive for LGD-4033, an anabolic agent that is prohibited by the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.

Following an investigation, USADA stated that:

“Following notification of his positive test, Harris provided USADA with information about a dietary supplement product he was using before and at the time of the relevant sample collection. Although no prohibited substances were listed on the supplement label, analysis conducted on both the open and independently sourced, unopened containers of the product by the WADA-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, indicated that the product contained LGD-4033.”

Because the supplement was proven to be contaminated, Harris was given a reduced suspension of four months by USADA. The suspension is retroactive of December 29th, meaning that Harris will be eligible to fight again at the end of this month.

Harris’ split decision win over Andrei Arlovski on December 29th at UFC 232 has been overturned to a no contest.
