War Of Words Escalate Between Conor McGregor And Khabib Nurmagomedov
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov broke the pay-per-view record for MMA at UFC 229. After the fight, they also broke the rules. While Khabib jumped the cage and started a fight in the fan’s section, Conor McGregor was attacked by Khabib’s teammates, and a slew of suspensions and fines followed.
However, the bad blood between the two fighters hasn’t settled. Yesterday, Conor McGregor called Khabib’s wife “a towel”, and as expected, the UFC Lightweight Champion has now hit back. Guess there is no taking the high road in mixed martial arts these days.
“Rapist, you are Rapist”, Khabib wrote. “You are a hypocrite who is not responsible for your actions. Justice will find you. We will see. @TheNotoriousMMA“
As earlier reported, the New York Times revealed that Conor McGregor is currently being invested by the Irish police on sexual assault allegations. Rumours have been swirling around for a couple of years now, regarding Conor’s “ventures” outside the Octagon. While the Irishman hasn’t exactly commented on the situation, he has continued to be active on social media, calling top fighters out for a big payday.
We are now officially in murky waters, where the sport of MMA has taken a dip in mud and rolled around in dirt. Can things get any worse? If the back and forth between the two is any indication, we think they can.
