We’re One Step Closer To Romero vs Costa Showdown

It could be third time lucky for fans that want to see Yoel Romero vs Paulo Costa. The pair were originally booked for UFC 230 but Romero was forced to pull out. The UFC then tried to make the fight for the first UFC card of 2019 in Brooklyn but Costa suffered a minor injury.

Although the UFC have planned for Romero and Costa to headline the upcoming Florida card on April 27th since January, the fight was still in doubt due to Romero taking part in a reality TV show, that sees him test his skills on various obstacle courses.

However, ‘The Soldier Of God’ has just been eliminated from the show. Now apparently he just needs to get a doctor’s clearance that he’s fit to fight and it could finally be game on.

The Florida card was originally set to go down in Miami, although it is believed that it has now been moved 30 miles north, to Fort Lauderdale.

Romero hasn’t fought since he lost to Robert Whittaker via split decision, last June. Costa is coming off of a second round TKO win over Uriah Hall last July.
