Former UFC light heavyweight Anthony Johnson has reportedly been arrested on domestic abuse charges in South Florida on Monday. According to multiple reports, “Rumble”, who previously fought for the UFC — and now works in an ambassador role for BKFC — allegedly got into an altercation with his girlfriend.

First reported by TMZ, Anthony Johnson’s girlfriend reportedly tried to kick him out of the house. The former MMA fighter however reportedly lifted her up, and put her in a “football hold”, and took her into a different room. Johnson’s girlfriend then called the cops on him, resulting in Anthony being questioned by the police.

Anthony Johnson also reportedly admitted to getting physical with his girlfriend. However, there were no bruises on the victim, and Johnson told the police that he did not intend to harm her, but that he did not want to have a heated argument.

According to TMZ, “Cops determined Johnson’s actions warranted a domestic violence arrest — so they took him into custody and hauled him to a nearby station where he was booked on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.”

Johnson’s girlfriend allegedly told the police that “she was scared due to his size and martial arts experience”.

“Rumble” retired from MMA in 2017, after losing to Daniel Cormier. He has since taken up body building, before signing with BKFC in an ambassador-type role.
