An exciting UFC light heavyweight bout between Chris Weidman and Dominick Reyes has been announced to headline UFC Boston. ESPN’s Brett Bokamoto broke the news Tuesday night. Weidman will move up from middleweight to make his light heavyweight debut on the Boston card.

And it didn’t take long after the fight announcement, for the two to start trading blows on social media.

After trading blows briefly, the back and forth ended with Reyes showing respect towards Weidman.

The former UFC middleweight champion Weidman, lost four of his last five fights in the 185lbs division, albeit to four of the very best middleweights on the planet. In his last outing to the Octagon, ‘All-American’ lost to ‘Jacare’ Souza via a third round knockout, in the Fight of the Night at UFC 230.

Reyes is unbeaten, having amassed a 11-0 record. Five of those wins have come in the UFC, the last three of which were against Jared Cannonier, Ovince Saint Preux and Volkan Oezdemir.

UFC Boston goes down on October 18th, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
