UFC 245 Medical Suspensions

UFC 245 Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington

UFC 245 went down this past weekend. Labelled by many as the most stacked UFC card of 2019, it did not disappoint. And with so many incredible finishes and tightly fought contests, the thirteen fights on the card resulted in several lengthy medical suspensions.

Seven fighters in total look set to sit out on the side lines for a substantial period, following their bouts at the UFC’s last pay-per-view of the year.

Both headliners Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington face 180 day medical suspensions. Usman, who snatched victory in the final minute of the main event to defend his welterweight title, for the injury to his left thumb. And Covington, for the nondisplaced midline mandibular fracture in his jaw.

New featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski; Petr Yan, who stopped Urijah Faber; Mike Perry; Geoff Neal and Viviane Araujo all also received 180 day medical suspensions.
