UFC welterweight contender Darren Till, has been arrested in Tenerife, Spain, along with four other Brits.
The Daily Mirror newspaper in the UK, has reported that the Till was stopped by police after jumping in a taxi while the driver was putting their luggage in the boot, and speeding off.
The newspaper also reported that Till and four others were kicked out their hotel for smashing up furniture and setting off fire extinguishers.
It is reported that the taxi had arrived to collect the five of them, after they had been turned away from booking into another hotel, in the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife.
The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning. The police have not released the names of the other Brits arrested, thought to be friends of Till.
The 26 year old Till was last seen inside the Octagon last month at UFC London, when he was knocked out in the second round by Jorge Masvidal.
The Daily Mail newspaper in the UK has reported that following two days of being under arrest, Till and his four friends appeared in court in the town of Arona, in the south of Tenerife on Saturday.
Till was fined £700 and the group of them must also pay more than £8,500 in compensation to the hotel.
Court of Investigation Number Four in Arona, acting as a duty court on Saturday, said that ‘the men admitted wrongdoing’.
Till is yet to comment on the incident.
