Tito Ortiz Says The Fight With Chael Sonnen Is On
Talking to TMZ Sports, Tito Ortiz confirmed that a rematch with Chael Sonnen is on the way. Saying that he’d like it to be at Madison Square Garden in New York, because he hasn’t fought there before.
Ortiz also confirmed that it would be fought in Bellator and predicted that he would smash Sonnen.
“I’m gonna smash Chael. I’m not going to choke him, I’m not going to submit him, I’m going to smash him. I’m going to put a show on for everyone of the fans. Most likely with Bellator, Scott Coker will make the deal. It’ll be on Spike TV most likely.”
The pair first fought two years ago at Bellator 170, where Ortiz won via rear naked choke in the first round.
Ortiz recently just came out of a short retirement to fight his old rival Chuck Liddell, knocking him out in the first round.
Sonnen has fought three times since their first encounter, beating Wanderlei Silva and ‘Rampage’ Jackson. Before losing to Fedor Emelianenko in the semi-finals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.
The two former UFC fighters have been going at it on Twitter this week. If you missed it, you can catch up with their back and forth here.
