RDA Hits Back At Conor McGregor And His ‘Brown Water Cheap Whiskey’
At UFC Rochester this past weekend, Rafael dos Anjos got back to winning ways, beating Kevin Lee in the main event. Despite getting the fourth round stoppage, it didn’t stop Conor McGregor from taunting the Brazilian on social media. Which you can see here.
RDA has now hit back though, criticising McGregor for making fun of a fellow fighter’s misfortune. Before taking a shot at the Irish man’s ‘brown water cheap whiskey’. Referring to McGregor’s Proper Twelve whiskey.
dos Anjos and McGregor were scheduled to fight at UFC 196, for RDA’s UFC lightweight title, while McGregor was still the UFC featherweight champion. But with less than two weeks to go until fight night, dos Anjos broke his foot and was replaced by Nate Diaz.
Diaz would famously go on to submit McGregor in the second round and dos Anjos would later go on to lose his 155lbs title to Eddie Alvarez. Who would later lose it to McGregor at UFC 205.
It is also believed that the UFC were trying to make a fight between the two again in the lead up to UFC 223, before the infamous bus incident, which saw Conor and his crew attack the bus that Khabib Nurmagomedov was on.
Earlier this year, McGregor tweeted that he was retiring from the sport. Despite this, it is expected that he will return to the Octagon this year. With many of the top lightweights already booked up, perhaps the UFC will try to make RDA vs McGregor for a third time.
