UFC Fight Island 2 went down on Saturday night on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The third of four cards on Fight Island in two weeks, saw Deiveson Figueiredo beat Joseph Benavidez, to win the vacant UFC flyweight title. The Brazilian needed less than five minutes to win the belt, winning via rear naked choke having dominated the rematch.
The co-main event also didn’t see the second round, as Jack Hermansson beat Kelvin Gastelum via a slick heel hook in under 90 seconds. Elsewhere on the UFC Fight Island 2 main card, Rafael Fiziev looked fantastic beating Marc Diakiese via unanimous decision in a entertaining back and forth lightweight contest; Ariane Lipski scored a quick fire knee bar submission over Luana Carolina; and Askar Askarov edged Alexandre Pantoja in a razor close flyweight matchup.
